I work really hard to recycle, use my own bags when doing the grocery shopping, and turn off my car in the carpool line at my kids’ school. When it comes to being Earth-friendly, I do my very best to be conscientious. But, I have to admit, I haven’t given much thought to going green as it relates to my four-legged child.
Until now.
I am excited to find out that there are many products being offered by reputable companies doing their part to save the earth. Below, I’ll showcase a few pet products you may be interested in if you eager to find more ways to conserve our planet.
Bamboo Dog Collar from Up Country--If you’re like us, you have to replace your dog’s collar every year or so. Like our own clothes, our dog’s collars wear out over time. Enter collars that are made out of bamboo, one of the world’s best renewable resources. These collars come in 15 colors, can be personalized for your dog, and are cute, too! I love the idea of having my dog’s name and my cell phone embroidered onto her collar, so I do not have to worry about her catching her tag on her crate or another pet’s collar when playing. And at $15, they’re not too pricey either. Customization is an additional $20.
Taco Catnip Toys from Uncommon Goods--These toy tacos look good enough to eat! But we wouldn’t recommend it. They’re filled with catnip! Your cat will love the colorful faux lettuce, cheese, tomato, and cabbage tabs protruding from the sides of this soft fleece taco toy. $14 for two unique tacos. Just in time for Cinco de Mayo!
Fresh Patch Potty Pads--Dogs want to go on real grass, so give them the opportunity to do so when they’re potty training! One reviewer said these natural and biodegradable training pads made “training in the city easy.” Just put them in the compost pile once used (clean solid waste off first). The training pads come in a variety of sizes and finishes. The standard size is $29, and the most popular shipping option is every two weeks.
So, what are you waiting for? This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as green pet products go. Companies everywhere are recognizing the need to conserve. So, jump on the green bandwagon when it comes to caring for your pet. Every Earth-friendly choice we make can help our planet be a better place.
